Call for application for three scientific MAECI’s Awards

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announces the sixth edition of the awards “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” and “The innovation that speaks Italian” and the second edition of the award “Science, she Says!”

Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” recognizes the work of an Italian scientist who has remarkably contributed to the advancement of science and technology (S&T) while performing his/her research abroad and the call is addressed to researchers under 35 years old. The Award Committee, chaired by the Head of Office IX of the Directorate General for Country Promotion at MAECI, will be composed by the Presidents and/or Representatives of the major Italian Research and Academic Institutions.

The “Innovation that speaks Italian” Award, in its sixth edition, is a recognition of the innovative value of technological start-ups operating abroad and founded by Italian citizensThe call for applications is open to Italian Startup founders operating for at least 5 years in Canada. A Technical Committee coordinated by PNI Cube will examine the applications. The final selection, which will identify the winner, will be made in Italy by a technical committee consisting of investors, entrepreneurs and experts, representing PNICube as well as representatives of the MAECI.

Science, She Says!” at its second edition, aims to recognize an outstanding junior female scientist who has remarkably contributed to the advancement of science and technologywhile performing her research in North America. Italian researchers are not eligible for this prize. All fields of science and technology will be considered. The nominee should be resident in the country where she is nominated for the award, at least since January 1st 2019. The age limit is up to 40 years old at the time of publication of this notice. The nomination should be submitted by an eminent scientist who is holding a leading position in a Scientific Academy, University, Research Institute or S&T Department of the Government of Canada in which the nominee is working. Self-nominations are not eligible, nor are nominations from immediate family members.

The Award Committee, chaired by the Head of Office IX of the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of MAECI, will be composed by the Presidents and/or Representatives of the major Italian Research and Academic Institutions.

The Award ceremony is scheduled for the next edition of the Conference of Scientific Attachés, which will take place in 2024 in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
