Honourable Stefano Dambruoso, Quaestor of the Chamber of Deputies, Parliament of Italy (Magistrate, with key assignments related to the fight against international terrorism and organized crime), visited Vancouver (British Columbia) from September 5 to 8 2017.
During his visit Hon. Dambruoso had meetings with Minister of Public Safety and with Attorney General (Provincial Government), Deputy Mayor of Vancouver, representatives from RCMP and Vancouver Police Department, representatives from the private sector (Italian-Canadian business community) and from the local economic environment (on the topic of EU-Canada Free Trade Agreement “CETA”) and the Italian Community of Vancouver.
The meetings focused on security issues and the fight against organized crime, economic cooperation and prospects for increasing trade between Italy and British Columbia/Western Canada. Special attention was also given to the upcoming provisional application of “CETA” – due to take effect on September 21st 2017) and the needs of the local community in the overall framework of relations between Italy and British Columbia.
