{"id":578,"date":"2023-05-24T01:30:46","date_gmt":"2023-05-23T23:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consvancouver.esteri.it\/?page_id=578"},"modified":"2026-04-23T01:21:41","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T08:21:41","slug":"youth-mobility-visa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consvancouver.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/visti\/youth-mobility-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Mobility Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Italy-Canada Youth Mobility Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new agreement between Italy and Canada on Youth Mobility, which entered into force on November 1, 2022, allows young people between 18 and 35 years of age from either country to spend up to twelve (12) months in the other country and seek temporary paid employment.<\/p>\n<p>This is a significant opportunity for Canadian youths to develop a deeper understanding of the Italian language, culture and lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that, under the new agreement, participants are entitled to work for the entire authorization of stay, for a maximum duration of twelve (12) months, including with the same employer if they so choose. Every young person may participate in the program a maximum of two times.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian citizens who wish to participate in this bilateral program must obtain the necessary visa before leaving Canada. They CANNOT apply for their visa after arriving in Italy.<\/p>\n<p>Equally, Italian citizens who wish to apply to this program for Canada must contact the Canadian Embassy in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHO CAN APPLY FOR AN ITALIAN YOUTH MOBILITY VISA WITH US<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba be between 18 and 35 years of age on the date of application;<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba be\u00a0a Canadian citizen and possess a valid Canadian passport;<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba to be deemed a resident of our consular district (AB, BC, SK &amp; YT) with a local provincial ID to prove it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT TYPE OF VISA?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can apply either for:<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba a Working Holiday visa<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba a Salaried Employment Work visa,<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba or Study\/Intern visa.<\/p>\n<p>For further information\u00a0on visas to Italy please check\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vistoperitalia.esteri.it\/home\/en\">http:\/\/vistoperitalia.esteri.it\/home\/en<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Visit this webpage\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consvancouver.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/visti\/modulistica-per-visti\/\">(click here)<\/a>\u00a0to download the required visa forms and supplementary documents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR ALL SUBCATEGORIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(<em>all presented in proper physical hard copies; pls. no screengrab prints, no docs on pen drives, phones, or laptops<\/em>)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One recent passport-size colour photo (must have been taken less than six months before the application), size 35mm x 40mm, full-face and light coloured background. Face must be correctly centred and must be seen from a front view, with both sides visible. Styled poses (looking over one shoulder, head bowed etc.) are not allowed. The head must be free of all headgear, no hats, scarves, headbands or other decorative objects;<\/li>\n<li>A valid provincially issued <strong>photo identification card <\/strong>(<strong>original and photocopy<\/strong>), such as a driver\u2019s license, services card, health care card, or other government-issued identity card. The identification must be issued within our consular jurisdiction, which includes Alberta (AB), British Columbia (BC), Saskatchewan (SK), and Yukon (YT).<\/li>\n<li>Canadian provincial DL, or ID, or equivalent, in original &amp; a copy.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>personalized <\/strong>round-trip <strong>flight ticket to Italy<\/strong>, or other proof of intended transport to Italy, must be provided. The ticket must reflect the Applicant\u2019s <strong>LEGAL name<\/strong>, exactly as it appears in the passport (nicknames are not accepted). As an alternative, the Applicant may submit a personalized flight reservation, booking confirmation, or detailed flight itinerary <strong>issued by a reputable travel agency for visa application purposes<\/strong>. This alternative documentation must also display the Applicant\u2019s <strong>LEGAL name <\/strong>as shown in the passport<strong>. <\/strong>If the alternative solution is chosen, the Applicant must provide proof of sufficient financial resources to cover the cost of the airline ticket for the intended travel dates<strong>. <\/strong>Major air carriers generally limit flight reservations and ticket purchases to 11\u201312 months prior to the scheduled return date. Accordingly, one-way travel arrangements for visa purposes are permitted <strong>only <\/strong>for technical reasons related to the total duration of stay in Italy, specifically when the stay exceeds ten (10) to eleven (11) months. Please note that purchasing a ticket in advance or prepaying any non-refundable travel arrangements does <strong>not guarantee <\/strong>that a visa will be issued.<\/li>\n<li>The appropriate <strong>Visa Fee<\/strong> must be paid <strong>in Canadian dollars only<\/strong>, using <strong>cash<\/strong>, <strong>bank draft<\/strong>, or <strong>money order<\/strong> made payable to the \u201cConsulate General of Italy in Vancouver.\u201d No other forms of payment are accepted at this time. Such funds are assessed at a current minimum of EUR 1,900 equivalent in CAD; for info on current exchange rates, please <a href=\"https:\/\/tassidicambio.bancaditalia.it\/terzevalute-wf-ui-web\/latestRates\">click here<\/a> . The availability of these funds must be shown by providing:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">\u25baup-to-date bank statement(s) from major accounts (e.g., <strong>chequing, savings, TFSA, GIC, etc.<\/strong>), covering transactions for the most recent <strong>three (3) months<\/strong>, <strong>stamped by the issuing financial institution<\/strong> <strong>AND <\/strong>an <strong>up-to-date <\/strong>summary of accounts\/account snapshot, duly <strong>stamped by the issuing financial institution<\/strong>; please ensure that the Applicant\u2019s<strong> LEGAL <\/strong>name (no nicknames) <strong>and the relevant account details are clearly visible on all financial documentation<\/strong>. <strong>In exceptional cases the visa applicant may have to rely on a parent as a financial guarantor<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/consvancouver.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/visti\/modulistica-per-visti\/\">click here<\/a> <\/strong>for forms and further guidance. Such program in Italy shall constitute an integral part of the academic program graduation requirements back in the country of origin.<\/p>\n<p>\u25ba a personalized proof of accommodation in Italy.
