(If the child is under the age of two, they must have been residing in Italy since birth.)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"538\">It is specified that:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"1566\">\n<li data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"919\">\n<p data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"919\">If the citizenship recognition process <em data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"602\">iure communicatione<\/em> falls, based on how it was submitted, under the exceptions set out in letters <strong data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"702\">a), a-bis), or b)<\/strong> of Article 3-bis of Law No. 91\/1992 (i.e., application\u2014administrative or judicial\u2014submitted by March 27, 2025, or application submitted by appointment confirmed by that date), the <strong data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"907\">previous regulations<\/strong> will apply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"1203\">\n<p data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"1083\">If the citizenship recognition process <em data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"983\">iure communicatione<\/em> was submitted <strong data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1028\">on or after March 28, 2025<\/strong>, then the parent transmitting citizenship must either:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1203\">\n<li data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1131\">\n<p data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1131\">be <strong data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1106\">exclusively<\/strong> an Italian citizen, or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1203\">\n<p data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1203\">have <strong data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1175\">resided in Italy for two years<\/strong> prior to the child\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1566\">\n<p data-start=\"1207\" data-end=\"1566\">If the <strong data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1246\">acquisition or reacquisition<\/strong> of citizenship by the parent occurs <strong data-start=\"1283\" data-end=\"1311\">on or after May 24, 2025<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1337\">cohabiting child<\/strong> must have been residing in Italy for at least <strong data-start=\"1384\" data-end=\"1434\">two years prior to the parent\u2019s naturalization<\/strong>.
